CriticalPoint, the industry leader in sterile compounding and custom E-learning programs has expanded its training efforts to include a live training program titled: Best Practices for Field Certification of Sterile Compounding Facilities Live Training.
The Best Practices for Field Certification of Sterile Compounding Facilities Live Training is a four-and-a-half-day onsite course designed to provide practical experience and fundamental resources that will assist participants to critically evaluate their existing certification practices. It will also assist learners who may want to develop a higher level quality assurance approach to ensure customer compliance with USP compounding chapters. This course is intended for advanced and intermediate level certification technicians with at least 1-year hands on field service who are looking to elevate their level of proficiency. Faculty includes subject matter experts in USP process, environmental consulting, engineering controls, certification training, pharmacy practice and microbiology.
Once registered, participants are provided access to selected CriticalPoint eLessons to complete before attending the live training. Once onsite, learners participate in engaging lectures and valuable labs designed to amplify important information from the lectures as well as practice certification skills. The course is held at the CriticalPoint Center for Training and Research (CCTR) which has a state-of-the-art classroom as well as two ISO 7 buffer rooms, an ISO 8 anteroom, a C-SCA and a large variety of primary engineering controls. Topics include: contamination control (hand hygiene and garbing, certification equipment transfer and conduct in sterile compounding environments); primary and secondary engineering control function, design and certification; airflow visualization testing; environmental monitoring and personnel sampling; certification documentation. Please refer to the learning objectives for more detailed information.
In addition to eLessons, lectures and labs, attendees also have the opportunity to participate in our Best Practices for Environmental Monitoring Certificate Program. Successful completion of this program’s requirements results in the acquisition and verification of specific essential knowledge and skills that facilitate the ability to successfully perform viable air and surface sampling in sterile compounding environments. Please refer to our Best Practices for Environmental Monitoring Certificate Program offering for more details.
Attendees will gain an understanding of the “whys” behind the “whats” of USP <797> and CriticalPoint Best Practices. This course will also cover both the current USP <797> requirements (2008 version) as well as probable 2019-chapter requirements. Aside from the program lectures, participants are provided with many valuable CriticalPoint tools, SOPs and form templates that may be used as a basis for their own certification service.
