CriticalPoint’s unique The Virtual Compounder® modules supplement key areas of your USP Chapter <797> training program. Expert authors have identified ten compounding skills that require specific process steps to be performed properly for effectiveness. Each module includes one hour of ACPE-approved CE credit.
The topics include:
- Personnel Garbing
- Cleaning Solution Preparation
- Cleaning the Primary Engineering Controls (Laminar Flow Workbench, Aseptic Isolator, Containment Isolator, and Biological Safety Cabinet) (4 modules)
- Monthly and Daily Cleaning (2 modules)
- Hazardous Spill Cleanup
- Volumetric Air Sampling
The Virtual Compounder® engages users to direct pharmacy personnel on the screen to perform process steps, learning and building competency in a simulated environment. This approach improves subject retention versus a single-method learning approach. See it in action. The Virtual Compounder® modules can be site-licensed or purchased on a per-seat basis.
What makes this training particularly relevant and timely is the fact that the U.S. Pharmacopeia has announced that changes to General Chapter Pharmaceutical Compounding – Sterile Preparations <797> are final and are now available online. These revisions will became official on June 1, 2008, and are included in USP 32–NF 27 and the second edition of the Pharmacists’ Pharmacopeia, which was published in March 2008. This revision tightens standards and conditions for sterile compounding over the current v
ersion of <797>, and will help improve patient safety.
Because training is a critical component of your overall quality assurance program, we offer complete training in the following areas:
